SUMMARY:Monthly Sandwich Blitz for JOMM
DESCRIPTION:Let’s help Just One More Ministry (JOMM) food bank and Guest House by making sandwiches for those experiencing food insecurities.\nSo many adults and children are in need of food now more than ever! Just One More Ministry and Guest House distribute sandwiches as a low barrier way for people to access food – no questions asked. Demand for meals due to food insecurity is increasing drastically\, so your contribution is very much appreciated. \nA few guidelines: \n\nWhite bread (preferred)\, ham or turkey\, and cheese (cheddar\, american\, provolone). No condiments(mayo/mustard) to prevent sandwiches from becoming soggy.\nThis might be someone’s only meal for the day. We recommend 2 slices of cheese + healthy serving of meat (several slices).\nIndividually packaged sandwiches. In order to reduce our plastic waste\, we are requesting all sandwiches individually wrapped in wax paper/wax paper bags & then placed back in the bread bag with a twist tie if possible. By putting the wax wrapped sandwiches back in the bread bag\, allows JOMM and Guest House the ability to freeze the sandwiches if need be. We realize this adds a little more work on your end but in the spirit of Bay Bridge\, we want to show support for our mission of social justice and these little changes (like less plastic) do make a difference for all. PLEASE DATE AND LABEL EACH SANDWICH with what type of sandwich it is. Sandwiches can be made ahead of time and frozen. Two loaves of bread makes approximately 20 sandwiches.\nPlease thoroughly clean all surfaces\, wash hands\, pull back hair\, and preferably wear a cap prior to food preparation. Please defer your participation if anyone in your household is not feeling well or tests positive for COVID.\n\n \nThere will volunteers with a Bay Bridge sign at School House Park across from the Whitefish Bay Public Library for drop off the first WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH from 9-10am. Our goal is to donate 1\,000 sandwiches every month to JOMM and Guest House and we believe our community can achieve this with your help! \n\n\n\n\nPlease review the available slots here to sign up. Thank you!\n“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is\, what are you doing for others?” – Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr.
