SUMMARY:Monthly Sandwich Blitz for JOMM
DESCRIPTION:Join Bay Bridge in making sandwiches for Just One More Ministry\, in Glendale. JOMM rescues excess food from area restaurants\, food suppliers and caterers and repackages it for shelters\, food pantries and community members in need. Right now\, JOMM needs bagged sandwiches as these lunches are easy to distribute with minimal contact. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDue to the overwhelmingly positive response from our MLK Sandwich Blitz\, Bay Bridge would like to offer this as a monthly service opportunity.  Help Bay Bridge and JOMM food bank by making sandwiches for those experiencing food insecurities.  So many adults and children are in need of food now more than ever!  JOMM distributes sandwiches as a low barrier way for people to access food – no questions asked.  JOMM has seen dramatic increases in demand over the last year\, so your contributions will serve an immediate need.  A few guidelines: \n\n\nWhite bread (preferred)\, ham or turkey\, and cheese (cheddar\, American\, provolone). No condiments(mayo/mustard) to prevent sandwiches from becoming soggy. \n\n\nIndividually package sandwiches in a plastic bag or wrap in waxed paper sealed with tape. PLEASE DATE AND LABEL EACH SANDWICH with what type it is. Sandwiches can be make ahead of time and frozen. Two loaves of bread makes approximately 20 sandwiches. \n\n\nPlease thoroughly clean all surfaces\, wash hands\, pull back hair\, and preferably wear a cap prior to food preparation. Please defer your participation if anyone in your household is not feeling well. \n\n\nThere will be a little white truck with a Bay Bridge sign on it parked at School House Park across from the Whitefish Bay Public Library for drop off the first WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH from 9-10am. Please follow COVID safe practices by wearing a mask\,  physically distancing and not congregating\, and staying home if you are not feeling well. Our goal is to donate 1\,000 sandwiches every month to JOMM. We believe our community can achieve this with your help! \nPlease review the available slots here to sign up. Thank you! \n“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is\, what are you doing for others?” – Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr.

SUMMARY:Fireside Chats with Women Entrepreneurs
DESCRIPTION:Anne O’Connor\, Kathy Wurzer\, and Jennifer Koop Olsta\, founded Bay Bridge from a shared desire to address racial inequalities in Whitefish Bay\,. They will discuss their strategy and commitment to change to creating a welcoming community that recognizes system racism and actively works to address and dismantle it. \nMalamaDoe\, a local coworking space for women\, will host Fireside Chats with Women Entrepreneurs each Tuesday in October to celebrate National Women’s Small Business Month.  The event aims to support and encourage female business owners by showcasing local role models\, while educating women about pertinent issues forthcoming in the upcoming elections. \nThe free speaker series will take place at 7 p.m. at MalamaDoe Suite 110\, in Shorewood.   Attendees will enjoy a beverage and informal small group chat. Entrepreneurs will share their own inspirational stories\, describe challenges they have faced and provide helpful advice for other female business owners. \nThe premise for the series is that since 2020\, we have had time to reflect. Now\, with the upcoming Mid-Term Elections\, it is time to make decisions in line with our values. Come and listen to these non-partisan talks and be inspired. \nSpace is limited so please RSVP for this event. \nEvent is sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma SocietyStudent of the Year campaign. \n\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/fireside-chat-with-founders-of-bay-bridge-anne-kathy-and-jennifer-tickets-423878902207?aff=ebdsoporgprofile
