SUMMARY:Monthly Sandwich Blitz for JOMM
DESCRIPTION:Let’s help Just One More Ministry (JOMM) food bank and Guest House by making sandwiches for those experiencing food insecurities.\nSo many adults and children are in need of food now more than ever! Just One More Ministry and Guest House distribute sandwiches as a low barrier way for people to access food – no questions asked. Demand for meals due to food insecurity is increasing drastically\, so your contribution is very much appreciated. \nA few guidelines: \n\nWhite bread (preferred)\, ham or turkey\, and cheese (cheddar\, american\, provolone). No condiments(mayo/mustard) to prevent sandwiches from becoming soggy.\nThis might be someone’s only meal for the day. We recommend 2 slices of cheese + healthy serving of meat (several slices).\nIndividually packaged sandwiches. In order to reduce our plastic waste\, we are requesting all sandwiches individually wrapped in wax paper/wax paper bags & then placed back in the bread bag with a twist tie if possible. By putting the wax wrapped sandwiches back in the bread bag\, allows JOMM and Guest House the ability to freeze the sandwiches if need be. We realize this adds a little more work on your end but in the spirit of Bay Bridge\, we want to show support for our mission of social justice and these little changes (like less plastic) do make a difference for all. PLEASE DATE AND LABEL EACH SANDWICH with what type of sandwich it is. Sandwiches can be made ahead of time and frozen. Two loaves of bread makes approximately 20 sandwiches.\nPlease thoroughly clean all surfaces\, wash hands\, pull back hair\, and preferably wear a cap prior to food preparation. Please defer your participation if anyone in your household is not feeling well or tests positive for COVID.\n\n \nThere will volunteers with a Bay Bridge sign at School House Park across from the Whitefish Bay Public Library for drop off the first WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH from 9-10am.
SUMMARY:Love Is Love: An evening at home with BJ Gruling and Rick Clark
DESCRIPTION:Bay Bridge welcomes you to join us in celebration of Valentine’s Day\, Love is Love: an evening at home with BJ Gruling & Rick Clark \nGather with us as we learn more about being LGBTQ partners\, both in life and business\, with BJ Gruling & Rick Clark while enjoying some of their favorite food and drink to celebrate Love and the New Year. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner…let’s raise a glass because Love is Love. \nA little bit about Rick and I. I am American raised in Wisconsin while Rick is Canadian raised north of Toronto. We met in the late 1980s while working at a hospital in Saudi Arabia. We are both science and healthcare professionals. This is quite an unusual place (Saudi Arabia) for gay people to meet. We were also able to travel the world while living in the Middle East. In 1990 after we had each returned to our birth country\, Rick relocated to Milwaukee where I was now residing as there was a high demand for his profession. \nWe lived in several different neighborhoods around Milwaukee and have now been Whitefish Bay residents for over 20 years. We opened Kilwins Milwaukee-Bayshore in 2014 and enjoy supporting the communities we live in and especially our youth. \n$50 per person – We ask that you register here and then make your donation on the Bay Bridge website using the red Donate Now button and the drop down menu choosing Student Scholarship Fund. \nAll proceeds benefit the new Bay Bridge Student Leader Scholarship Fund\, which recognizes demonstrated leadership and involvement in social justice\, advocacy or community organizing efforts by a Whitefish Bay High School senior. \nLimited availability: 50 person limit

SUMMARY:Monthly Sandwich Blitz for JOMM
DESCRIPTION:Join Bay Bridge in making sandwiches for Just One More Ministry\, in Glendale. JOMM rescues excess food from area restaurants\, food suppliers and caterers and repackages it for shelters\, food pantries and community members in need. Right now\, JOMM needs bagged sandwiches as these lunches are easy to distribute with minimal contact. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDue to the overwhelmingly positive response from our MLK Sandwich Blitz\, Bay Bridge would like to offer this as a monthly service opportunity.  Help Bay Bridge and JOMM food bank by making sandwiches for those experiencing food insecurities.  So many adults and children are in need of food now more than ever!  JOMM distributes sandwiches as a low barrier way for people to access food – no questions asked.  JOMM has seen dramatic increases in demand over the last year\, so your contributions will serve an immediate need.  A few guidelines: \n\n\nWhite bread (preferred)\, ham or turkey\, and cheese (cheddar\, American\, provolone). No condiments(mayo/mustard) to prevent sandwiches from becoming soggy. \n\n\nIndividually package sandwiches in a plastic bag or wrap in waxed paper sealed with tape. PLEASE DATE AND LABEL EACH SANDWICH with what type it is. Sandwiches can be make ahead of time and frozen. Two loaves of bread makes approximately 20 sandwiches. \n\n\nPlease thoroughly clean all surfaces\, wash hands\, pull back hair\, and preferably wear a cap prior to food preparation. Please defer your participation if anyone in your household is not feeling well. \n\n\nThere will be a little white truck with a Bay Bridge sign on it parked at School House Park across from the Whitefish Bay Public Library for drop off the first WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH from 9-10am. Please follow COVID safe practices by wearing a mask\,  physically distancing and not congregating\, and staying home if you are not feeling well. Our goal is to donate 1\,000 sandwiches every month to JOMM. We believe our community can achieve this with your help! \nPlease review the available slots here to sign up. Thank you! \n“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is\, what are you doing for others?” – Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr.
