SUMMARY:Monthly Sandwich Blitz for JOMM
DESCRIPTION:Join Bay Bridge in making sandwiches for Just One More Ministry\, in Glendale. JOMM rescues excess food from area restaurants\, food suppliers and caterers and repackages it for shelters\, food pantries and community members in need. Right now\, JOMM needs bagged sandwiches as these lunches are easy to distribute with minimal contact. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDue to the overwhelmingly positive response from our MLK Sandwich Blitz\, Bay Bridge would like to offer this as a monthly service opportunity.  Help Bay Bridge and JOMM food bank by making sandwiches for those experiencing food insecurities.  So many adults and children are in need of food now more than ever!  JOMM distributes sandwiches as a low barrier way for people to access food – no questions asked.  JOMM has seen dramatic increases in demand over the last year\, so your contributions will serve an immediate need.  A few guidelines: \n\n\nWhite bread (preferred)\, ham or turkey\, and cheese (cheddar\, American\, provolone). No condiments(mayo/mustard) to prevent sandwiches from becoming soggy. \n\n\nIndividually package sandwiches in a plastic bag or wrap in waxed paper sealed with tape. PLEASE DATE AND LABEL EACH SANDWICH with what type it is. Sandwiches can be make ahead of time and frozen. Two loaves of bread makes approximately 20 sandwiches. \n\n\nPlease thoroughly clean all surfaces\, wash hands\, pull back hair\, and preferably wear a cap prior to food preparation. Please defer your participation if anyone in your household is not feeling well. \n\n\nThere will be a little white truck with a Bay Bridge sign on it parked at School House Park across from the Whitefish Bay Public Library for drop off the first WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH from 9-10am. Please follow COVID safe practices by wearing a mask\,  physically distancing and not congregating\, and staying home if you are not feeling well. Our goal is to donate 1\,000 sandwiches every month to JOMM. We believe our community can achieve this with your help! \nPlease review the available slots here to sign up. Thank you! \n“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is\, what are you doing for others?” – Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr.

SUMMARY:Protecting Wisconsin Students' Rights to Nondiscriminatory Schools
DESCRIPTION:Bay Bridge and PACE3\n  \nVital presentation for students or anyone who has contact with students in the school setting \nReports of intentional and unintentional discrimination in the schools can be made by anyone. Documentation of discrimination is so important so that the schools have a clear picture of what BIPOC encounter in their school experience. This also gives districts’ proof of the necessity of an equity plan and training for personnel. Most importantly this will protect our BIPOC students and students of other identities.\n\n\n\nParents Advocating for Cultural Equality and Educational Excellence (PACE3) is parents of students of color in the Whitefish Bay School District who advocate for racial equity in suburban schools. \nView on Eventbrite

\nPlease review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you! \n“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is\, what are you doing for others?” – Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr. \n\n\n\n\nSign up to help

SUMMARY:Changing Seats: Teachers Listen & Learn from BIPOC Students
DESCRIPTION:A panel led by students\, inviting teachers to join us in building more equitable school communities.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\nTeachers joined this listening session\, led by and centering the stories\, experiences\, and ideas of BIPOC students! \nTeachers play a crucial role in supporting and advocating for Black\, Indigenous\, and People of Color (BIPOC) students\, ensuring students can learn and thrive in their classrooms. Black and Brown students in our schools experience microaggressions\, racist bullying\, and tokenizing\, which affect their wellbeing and ability to succeed. They are calling on all of us to hear their stories and to support them. \nHow can teachers show up in allyship to BIPOC students and in solidarity with one another? How can we work together to address racism in schools and uphold racial equity in our classrooms? \nBy beginning with storytelling and listening\, this event was a starting place to explore these questions\, to foster collaboration between students and teachers\, and to take action together toward racial equity.
