Green Book Milwaukee

Continue the research started by Nyama Reed and Bay Bridge Founder Anne O’Connor to determine if any Milwaukee Green Book sites are still standing. Volunteers will help to create maps of potential Green Book sites.

If there are even one or two interesting or significant sites still in existence, this could lead to a possible historical status proposal. This designation is part of a nationwide movement to preserve the importance of what author and Cultural Documentarian Candacy Taylor dubbed the “Overground Railroad”. Locally, another possibility is a proposal to Doors Open Milwaukee for a Green Book themed tour.
